Just beat the game and it's just okay. I've been playing the series since the original AC and it just seems in recent games they've stepped away from how it was progressing. While this is reminiscent of AC1, the free running and combat took a bit of a dive. Don't get me wrong, I'm very appreciative that we've got to play a character who isn't battle-hardened yet and a 1-man army, but the fact that he was a thief since a child you'd just expect more of an emphasis on his unique abilities. The thieving mechanics have little use towards the main progress of the game other than stealing money and trinkets to sell for upgrading your inventory. You can steal outfits to sneak into certain places, but you really can get through most of the game without it.
I understand it was a backstory type of game from Valhalla and the overall budget and studio wer not as large as other editing, but it feels like it should've been a $30 DLC to Valhalla, rather than a full standalone. Overall okay and decent, but not really a game I feel I'll replay.
