I entered into this movie with hope. A24 makes incredible films and this one in particular focuses on exciting issues. But I am not sure whose point of view I am experiencing this movie through. I think it is Kirsten Dunst, so why am I constantly getting angles from random people while Kirsten experiences unspeakable tragedies? If I am supposed to connect with her, I need to know what she experiences. I am not sure if this is a writing problem or a directing problem, but it is a problem. Movies are about people. In this particular movie, I have no idea who it is about.
