The fact that anyone could give this movie one star actually brings tears to my eyes.
I don't need it to be appreciated because I appreciate it enough for myself, more so it saddens me that half of our society (these reviews acting as a population) cannot see what this movie actually is, or they do not care enough about art to find out. This is essentially the autobiography of a man who is and forever WILL be considered one of the greatest artists of all time.
Again, it doesn't need to be appreciated by those who do not understand, but those who do not understand should not speak, unless it is to ask why and to learn something.
I will forever be grateful to Hayao Miyazaki for making my childhood tolerable and inspiring me to see beauty in every facet of life regardless of the circumstances and situations I had no choice but to be raised in, as did he.
