Some beautiful establishing shots and musical score aswell as select pieces of world building and costuming are good but that's where it falls off. Costuming of some of the numenoreans and orcs are the standouts.
Acting is sub par by a majority of the cast, many characters void of development and personality and likeability, many characters these days are powerful women and it seems ridiculous every criticism of galadriel is met with answers that the critics are sexist.I would love to enjoy a noble elf warrior badass galadriel but it makes her so self absorbed and unlikeable it is hard to enjoy watching her. Elendil and disa are standouts character and acting wise so far, though I still feel like the female dwarves should have way bigger beards.
It Butchers Tolkiens Canon as there is troubles with the rights, select nods have been made to the Lore and the rest is like a bad fan fiction.(I don't hold the fact there's changes too much against it but I do hold the fact the writing of those changes are so bad)
Put off writing a review but couldn't stop myself after the third episode,
Will continue to watch as I am an avid fan and is enjoyable to watch if you watch but don't think but mostly just as a visual cgi spectacle.
Also am I the only one who liked the practical metal pouring video that they used for a teaser trailer more than the actual opening they used for the show?
