Ok ok,you gotta be a pet shop boys fan to love this, yet another compilation.
Ranges from cheesy elevator music to totally pretentious electronic boredom intermingled
With the few decent tracks from the golden days of the 1980s ,tracks we have come to love.
But we've heard it all before.
Pet shop boys have gone through some changes in musical style over the years, they bounce from ballad's to disco..to dance and this is reflected in this compilation,it's a compilation of some strengths but some embarrassments.
It's as if the pet shop boys are jack of all trades but master of none.
Nothing can compare to the powerful sounds of 1980s pet shop boys, there's a certain sound you get from recording onto 1980s DAT tape,it's a warm compression full of drive and power ( it's a sin, west end girls) that digital recording simply can't emulate- those days have obviously gone listening to their recent material.
Sometimes I kinda wish old artists would quietly leave us with the tracks we love them for, instead of smashing the same sounding stuff out...
I stopped listening to their music years ago when I heard the album very and equally cheesy bilingual.
I've been to see super in concert,I thought the spectacular lighting was better than the sound, whining Neil tennant isn't brilliant live .
Sorry if I'm harsh,I used to love them.
There's been 9 compilation albums and £40/to £45 for 3 CDs! Ridiculously expensive for a back catalogue you can listen for free on YouTube anytime...
If you're a fan you'll buy it because you don't know any better -I doubt it'll become a collector's item.
