Poweful, quite sympathetic to Rommel, making it look as if they were not despicable fascists, merely natioalists. Not exactly true to history, still perhaps they were less rabid than the SS. Anyway TV drama is indeed engrossing

am an incorrigible fan of Al Pacino. But in this Walken is simply amazing, almost outclassing Al. Though full of implausible turns, still the movie is memorable.

Amazing. Overwhelming. Benumbing. You can go on adding such adjectives. I will just say am left shaken at the monstrous cruelty of a regime that is speaks in the name of a doctrine promising a new dawn. The novel woven around the unspeakably ghastly Tianenmen massacre needs greater exposure.
