You might like this if you like really bad xmas movies. The acting isn’t terrible but it’s also not amazing. But the storyline and writing are awful, even for a typical bad xmas movie.
1. Both leads being inexplicably creepy standing outside each other’s parents’ houses and just staring through the window.
2. Not only is the woman cheating on her fiancé, but the only apparent reason given is that he’s cheap. Romance is all about the money and fame, that’s the message I got.
3. She inexplicably sneaks out of their hotel room in the middle of nowhere after a snowstorm with no car and magically ends up at her parents’ house - also unexplained is how he found out where she was.
4. His bitterness toward his father is hard to believe.
5. She never reunites with her mother - he does. So odd. Like, they seriously should’ve followed HER storyline as it was clearly more interesting, but instead they swapped her out for him in continuing to explore “her” family story, for no reason.
6. They are reunited inexplicably by staring at each other bizarrely from across the street and that’s the end. But not before an incredibly awkward and uncomfortable “I don’t love you” scene.
7. She kept saying he was attractive. Her fiancé was a lot cuter. She was younger and cuter and it didn’t make a whole lot of sense that she was the one pursuing him other than she wanted his money - which she supposedly was unaware of at first.
8. It was cool that they had an interracial relationship, but her fiancé who we only saw for a few seconds was poc and they centered the white man’s story.
I hope the actors had fun because that’s about all this movie has going for it. I kept watching because the lead actress is cute and because I was practicing my French watching it dubbed in French. Oh, and the music was good. She’s a good singer. 100% would not have finished this in English.
