Let’s keep in mind the Tolkien estate had veto power over the show’s story. So I think they approved this show to be a fan fiction retelling meant for casual and new fans. After the finale I now accept more than ever that the show is 100% meant for the casual fans, not lore nerds. I still mostly enjoyed it, hate the Halbrand storyline, but I am confident it will get better in future seasons. The Harfoots, Durin & Elrond, Arondir & the orcs, Elendil and some bits of Numenor make the show good enough for me. It is still honestly one of the best TV shows I’ve ever watched. Even if it doesn’t follow the lore and is just a fan fiction retelling. So I’m just going to watch it how a casual fan would and accept it is it's own thing. It is not going to follow the lore as close as a nerd like me wants. But still fun to watch with plenty I enjoy, amazing music, and beautiful visuals.
