I really don’t understand the negative reviews. I’ve watched it three times already because that’s how much I love it! I loved the book and loved the way the director adapted/modernized it. Dakota killed it in this role and I really had no idea she was such a good actor until this movie. She’s funny, soft, ethereal, so very good at the accent, and completely sells Anne Elliott’s character. The only negative review I agree with is that Jarvis is a bit stiff and Golding and Dakota have much more chemistry. Otherwise, this movie is wonderful!
