This ensemble show is brilliant. It’s quick and really hilarious. Hitting strong topics from a super authentic perspective of the English teacher - it had me howling with laughter. As a result of him being a gay man - he finds himself at the many intersections of school and world politics (somewhat begrudgingly at times). There is humour in here that is multi level which I adore - like queer cultural jokes but then the next crack is about the cafeteria food. Everything from physical to word play jokes too. Script, story, acting, direction, camera work, casting and wardrobe- it’s all well executed.
It is not easy to create a show that has the pacing of reality and lands the humour well.
Episode 1 - when he first goes to the football field and she badly tosses him the ball - watch his gesture. Every kid who was not sporty (me) will laugh. It’s exactly how one should react when they know nothing about football. 😂
