A lot of people in these reviews who gave this one star are complaining that it wasn’t at all “Black Mirror” for them and/or complain that the mockumentary only focuses on the American election. 1) Do not expect this to be something out of the Black Mirror universe, it’s labelled “a mockumentary and comedy event” so that already should indicate this isn’t another Bandersnatch. 2) It predominantly looks at the American election, but not by a landslide. It also discusses the COVID-19 pandemic, events in the UK, George Floyd, Australian wildfires, and way more. Death to 2020 was a comedic masterpiece and I am so happy to finish off the year with something hilariously written, acted well with a star-studded cast, and filled with relevant satire. Yes, it is biased, but not in a way that it’s trying to radicalize you. I simply think there was more to satirize with characters who appear far-right (as seen with Lisa Kudrow and Cristin Milioti’s characters). Bottom line, if you want to enjoy the movie, don’t take it seriously. Just try to have a laugh.
