Trigger warning to those sensitive to war, imperialism, colonialism, US hegemony and the military industrial complex. If this is you, I advise you not spend the money and wait till it’s on Netflix. I am a Tom Cruise fan, he is an American Icon. Indeed Top Gun is an American classic. The movie itself is very well done, the chemistry between Tom and Jennifer Connolly is undeniable and heart warming. The action was exciting to watch. However, America has failed us, it has failed the world. This film is offensive to watch. The planes cost $100 million each and watching some punk kid operating it as if it is a toy was displeasing. The current cost of the military industrial complex is costing american tax payer money close to 800 billion dollars per year when this could be put to end hunger, mental health, improve infrastructure, social services etc. Despite the action, great cast, impressive cgi, this movie is offensive and comes off as a recruitment movie for the military. I sincerely hope one day America can be the leader in a respectful way, not through war and destruction. Love, your neighbor from Canada 🇨🇦
