I don't really understand why people have said that this movie isn't believable. I actually found it quite disturbing and scary (as thrillers are supposed to be) for the very fact that its progression is quite realistic. It starts off slow, then builds up to its thrill. The slow start is exactly what makes it so believable. Girl meets seemingly sweet woman, befriends her, then over time it becomes apparent that the woman is VERY disturbed. Don't tell me you haven't heard news stories about unsuspecting females being lured by strange women into harmful or even fatal situations. Take recent news story about a pregnant teen who was murdered by another woman! Not even the first story of its kind. It doesn't take a dumb or weak person to make one mundane mistake that could leave them in a terrifying situation. This movie is terrifying because it shows how people (even women) can prey on others' good intentions and take advantage of the kind part of human nature. This movie left me very unsettled.

Contrary to the popular opinion, I actually found this movie far more thought-provoking overall than the first. Whereas the first movie centered mostly around themes of vengeance, violence, and Kate's struggle with following her conscience, this movie touched on deeper, less traditional themes. Themes such as loyalty, betrayal, and humanity in the face of atrocity were central to much of the movie.
