I played the original back in the day when it first came out. I was in high school at the time and I waited till midnight to play it and stayed up all night. It was/is my all time favorite game that I judge all other horror games by. I was dissapointed to see the band-wagon of hate for the remake that became popular on social media. All the wanna-be contrarians and people desperate for clicks tried to hurt the game before they even played it. Luckily, they failed. Not only is the game good, I think it's an excellent remake, and the reviews reflect that. Nothing will ever be perfect, not even the original was perfect, so any valid criticisms of the game don't diminish the hard work and loyalty to the franchise that Bloober managed to pull off. Just because you read about some imperfection or your favorite youtuber or podcaster says it's lame, don't deprive yourself of an awesome game that captures the spirit of the original very well. It's ok to like things, be your own person!
