Whether you like him or not, Gervais is good at his job. The sort of comedy he works with IS polarising and the fact that some people find Super Nature brilliant whilst others hate should tell you that he's successful in what he set out to do - to get people thinking about the nature of comedy and where its heading.
Unfortunately, too many people will judge based on soundbites without ever seeing the whole show and they're not only missing context but also the point that Gervais is trying to get across.
