Who is paying people for these reviews? Because anyone who read the books won’t recognize almost anything of this movie, Artemis surfboarding? He would never do something so childish, Holly searching for her father? What!? Butler not wanting to be referred to as such? He only revealed his name when he thought he was dying! Just like Percy Jackson Disney doesn’t seem to understand that if you want a success just do what Harry Potter did and follow the books, quit paying screenwriters that twist an iconic character into something unrecognizable. The reason why people like Artemis is because he’s an antihero, a greedy highly intelligent thief whose character arc sees him becoming a better person over time! Almost none of the story matches the book in any way, is it terrible? No, will it ever get the sequels it could have? Absolutely not.
