I cannot imagine a better homage to the original film. The characters, the dialogue, the plot, and not to mention Laurie and Michael themselves.... it's the same story, but not. It's fresh, it's new, it has a beautifully updated sense of humor to it. But most of all, it's believable. It's a look into what Laurie's life would truly be like after Halloween 1978. Yes, she's a badass, and our hero... but more than that, she's deeply, truly, honestly afraid of Michael. I SO appreciate the directors for not overlooking that in favor of making her an invulnerable untouchable hero; Michael is the machine. Laurie is human. And therein lies the beauty of the entire story.
