Well still half way through... Nadine writes beautifully, gracefully and her language is terrific... It appears that it's a prima facie subtle narration of a straightforward story of a lone white businessman with fancy ideas of his own of relating his life with earth, farm, environ he's staying in backdrop of Apartheid era but it exposes the rift between privileged & opressed giving one a sure feel of inexplicable fear & unpredictable potential racial violence just about to happen...

Beautiful movie on love...Dialogues a bit verbose & fast paced at times, it depicts the intertwined shades of emotions, natural passionate impulses, calculated & conditioned thinking about marriage institution, situational constraints, social conformity issues, ideas of status, futility in ideas of independence and solitary feigned happiness...and still how unknowingly the seed of true love germinates, roots itself & prospers through layers of difficult years, ups & downs...
