Elden Ring is an excellent game, that really sets a new bar in the 'soulsborne' gaming space with its excellent open-world formula. The game is not perfect of course, as there is always room for improvement (e.g. some boss mechanics are a little too gimmicky, and the camera can be your worst enemy in some fights).
But overall, the game is a resounding success, and well worth the investment of a players time & money for serious gamers.
The addition of Statues of Marika near boss-battles is a VERY welcome change, and shows a much-needed appreciation for a player's time by From Software; as one of the greatest turn-offs on previous titles was the wasted time spent getting back to a boss to retry a battle. If it weren't for the inclusion of those, I would have steered clear of the title, as my gaming-time is too limited and valuable to be spent wasting 90% of the time walking to the battle to retry. Looks like they copied a page from the Nioh playbook there (which is good, because that title's waypoints were much better designed than From Software's titles, previously), and From Software finally put save points closer to the bosses.
