Movies based on video games can be hit or miss. But this is the critical hit the franchise needed! The fan service is off the charts, and while I haven't seen Reynolds' other performances, he nailed it. This was the break from the repetitive story the main series has, and I'd love to see more from this cinematic universe. The pokémon themselves are a bit of repeats. And there could've been more, but this is a start. The fan service is incredible. There are tons of niches and references to the games, the spin-off games, and even a couple Smash Bros. references in there too! Overall I would say this is a win for the franchise, and Thanos needs to step up his game! 93%

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Morbius. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of vampiric mythology most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Morbius' egalitarian outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from the works of Karl Marx and Ghandi, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Morbius truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Morbius' exclamatory catchphrase "It's Morbin' Time!" which itself is a cryptic reference to Shotaro Ishinomori's epic Power Rangers. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Daniel Espinosa's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂 And yes, by the way, i DO have a Morbius tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.
