I really enjoy Emily Mcintire's style of writing. It's very easy to get "hooked" and before I knew it, I was done the book in 1 day. 1 star off because although I loved the wholesome ending and it was a quick read, it became very sloppy during the second half. The story became rushed, and character development was essentially not existent. It was like watching a movie, is the best way i can put it. It's scene by scene and somethings arent explained in all that well detail as they skip to the next scene. If you enjoy that type of a read, which I don't personally mind, then you'll love it. But if you want deeper character connections and emotion, and more world building, this may not be for you. You don't end the book with a deep connection to the characters. But you do get a satisfied ending and you feel like a distant watcher being happy for the characters.
