Enjoyed the overall production, the practical effects used throughout are marvellous to watch. Production is truly where the joy of this play lies... writing, not so much. If you don't pay too much attention to the story / plot, this is a relatively enjoyable play, that and if you can navigate some of the more distracting deviations from the established Harry Potter characters, as Harry, Hermione and Ron are unrecognisable. The writers have done Ron a HUGE disservice, what an extremely disappointing portrayal they've created of this character; a witless buffoon, a lower than bargain-bin James Corden - written purely for laughs that will tickle only the simplest of audience members. A short fused and ungrateful Harry and a one dimensional, mono-tone Hermione. If you can disconnect yourself from the characters you've grown fond of you may leave this play feeling like your time and money were well invested. If not prepare to be dissatisfied.
