Loud Love was played heavily on Headbanger’s Ball and I loved the doom metal sound that reminded me of an updated Black Sabbath. The term Grunge was not coined yet and I listened almost exclusively to Metal and Hard Rock. To me this sound was the future of Metal. It spoke to violence, depression and environmental injustice in ways that resonated with me. It got me to step out of my comfort zone and listen to bands like Temple of The Dog and Pearl Jam which led me to their varied influences and followers. It was one of my favorite albums of the 80s and certainly changed my life.
