A hidden gem of a movie. I went into this thing it was going to be one of those "good bad" movies, which it was... However it leaned more so on the "good" part than I had anticipated. It turned out to be a surprisingly delightful cinematic adventure.

This show is a hidden gem. Easy lazy Sunday couch surfing stuff.

It truly feels like this movie was written and produced by a bunch of preteen aged Sunday schoolers. It's really bad. The lack of character development and transitioning. The horrible green screening doesn't help anything. It's not even like one of those movies that's entertaining to watch because it's so bad. This is just bad. Incredibly bad. Wild that this is what Cuba Gooding Jr. has been reduced to. Doing unwatchable movies with Kevin Sorbo. As far as religious propaganda movies go (which I don't mind when they're good), and there are quite a few that have come out recently, this was easily the worst of the bunch. Negative 5 stars.

At some point this movie began to remind me of one of those old "Tonight, in a very special episode of..."/PSA style episodes of sitnlcoms from the 80s and 90s. Like the Jessie Spano/Caffeine episode from 'Saved By the Bell' if anyone needed a little bit more context. A little cheesy, but still watchable if you're headed to bed.

Finished it in one day (NPI), and I was hooked from jump. I'm such a sucker stories like these.

Cons: Excruciatingly bad. Like a modern, anti-environmentalist, horror(ish) version of Red Dawn. It's almost as if some oil tycoon's college freshman year film student kid were given the resources to put on a big production, and this green trolling garbage is what came out. Not even one of those bad movies that's a good time to make fun of. Just... wack as hell. Thank god, or whomever, I didn't have to pay to see this. Pros: Beautiful location shots. Brutal killing scenes (It is considered horror after all. Right?).

Although I grew up in a different environment, there's a genuine authenticity of early 90s NYC that this film captures. And that's what makes this movie. Peck, Thirlby and Kingsley are all really good as well. The music is on point too. As far as coming of age stories go, this one is top notch for me.

If you're a fan of Vanessa Bayer, you'll love this. It's almost as if the show was built around her whole vibe. Ditto for Jennifer Lewis' role. Also... If you happen to be a fan of 'The Unbreakable...', it has a very similar energy to that. Almost every main character on this show comes through, and does their thing. Plus, you can't go wrong with Molly Shannon either. She's always funny.

Basically 'Idiocracy 2.0', except a current version. Highly reflective of American society as it is currently. Kind of scary how they nailed it, but still a great film overall.

Not the worst movie I've ever seen. Just really not good. Had some moments though. Seemed like a paycheck flick for everyone involved.
