This is the greatest game of all time, but ONLY if you view video games as an art form. If you just want a fun experiece that doesn't challenge you or make you question the way you look at the world then this is not for you. Don't get me wrong, this is the funnest game I've ever played. I've played through New Game + more times than I can count, and will forever return to my favorite chapters.
The Last of Us Part II takes the empathy we all feel for the protaganist and shows you why you should expand that circle. After all, isn't everyone the hero in their own story?
This is the only game I've ever reviewed online, but I felt it would be a good idea in this instance because I sincerely consider this to be a masterpiece that a vocal minority wasn't ready for.
I would normally NEVER drag politics into a review of a game, especially when the game isn't political AND the message the creators are attempting to convey is so desperately needed.
The problem is that the rollout of this masterpeice was seriously entangled up in vitriol from the gamergate crowd because they disagreed with playing as a woman and progress in general.
I'm sure one of the chuds that review bombed this game an hour after it came out, and proceded to spend more time on Youtube watching reactionary far-right content creators complain about how minority representation in media is bad will stumble across this review and begin to foam at the mouth.
Before forming an opinion OR having one formed for you I would highly recommend playing this game. Do yourself a favor, and play the 2020 Game of the Year. Don't let other people's bad politics, or the negative gamerbro reviews whining about "the SJW agenda" keep you from a beautiful masterpiece.
