I thought this show was going to be good and I am disappointed it isn't because its so overrated and such a waste of scenery. First of all, I didn't care for any of the characters, there was nothing appealing about any of them, nothing to like, admire, or relate to. Even when they used the American idea of having the freedom to own land, I wasn't rooting for them at all. Secondly, why did the writers think tragedy was going to make this family likable? The father is a widow, has cancer, gets shot, and his oldest son gets killed; the sister gets attacked, bombed at, and can't have kids?? Really?? Then the grandson gets stolen but rescued?? It's not believable, no one is this lucky! Not to mention the son who's adopted to explain why he is spineless? Ugh, this story gets dumber the longer you watch it. No originality and they tried to explain why Beth is so tough but I didn't buy it!! I actually hate the character and not because she was good at playing the part but because there was no reasoning to her hatred. Bottom line is this show is just a stupid soap opera trying to glamorize machoism, over-exaggerate the tough woman role, and promote violence to get what you want. The Dutton family were more like villains than real people, I hated it. I got the Peacock app just to watch this stupid show but wasn't worth my time. Removing it asap!!
