I love love love "The Great Tide." I read it in Florida before we moved to Louisiana and I reread it when we moved to Georgia. Being fr om St. Joe Beach I was eager to read a book about Port St. Joe and although this book is fiction, it is based on facts, like the way Port St Joe was destroyed 3 times. By fire, by yellow fever and by a hurricane. I found all this fascinating. This is a fantastic book!

I read "My Theodosia" a really long time ago but I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It gave me an insight into how daughters were used as bargaining chips in the "old days." Aaron Burr basically sold his daughter to settle a debt. She was in love with another man and tragically lost her life in a hurricane, if I remember correctly. It is a very good book. I loved it.
