This feels like what the writers managed to throw together during the two second intervals they were able to tear themselves away from their smartphones. There’s no integrated storyline, just three or four ideas dumped into the story. It always feels like it’s moving a hundred miles an hour for no reason from the get go. No easing the audience into Picard’s current life so the audience can orient themselves. Character development was completely abandoned in favor of special effects. Who are these people Picard lives with and why? Wait, HOW is Dahj connected to Picard? Picard isn’t Picard. He’s high strung and frail. So disappointed. Off to watch some TNG to cleanse my palate.
