I was never a huge Queen fan but after seeing the movie, I have a new found respect, perspective and understanding of a completely different world I will never experience within my own, very far removed, world. The music, the Live Aid Concert re-enactment, the albeit summarised retelling of the creation of some of Queen’s most popular tunes, was intriguing and fascinating. I loved the loud, deep, and enveloping boom of the music surrounding me. I felt it rising up through the floor of the cinema, vibrating my chair and transporting me to the front and centre of the concert stage. It took everything in my will power to stop myself from jumping up out of my chair to start dancing and jumping around everytime the music erupted. I loved it and now have an insatiable appetite for everything Queen, what they were, what they achieved and how they now continue to eclipse modern day rock folklore. Freddy Mercury was a musical genius. We are blessed that his mark has been etched on the world for eternity. Queen are and always will be, timeless geniuses!
