My parents bought me and my sister Animal Crossing: New Horizons because we did good on our report cards. We were super excited to start playing the game so we set it up on the switch and my sister started playing. She played for about 4 hours, she created and named her character, she fooled around, placed the tents, placed the museum and she got to name the island. Finally, it was my turn to play and I got on the switch. When I opened the game it opened my sisters island but with my character. I was just a villager on her island, I couldn’t make any decisions, but the most disappointing thing is that the game was meant to be a reward and now I can’t enjoy a game that I’ve wanted since it came out. The worst part is we thought the game was multiplayer because sites told us that 2 people could play on one switch, they didn’t tell us that meant only one of us got full game play. I’m heartbroken. I wanted to be able to play my favourite video game over the summer as a break from all that has been going on and all that I, personally have been through. Nintendo makes a lot of money and CAN make multiple game slots, we know this because they’ve done so with other games on the switch. It isn’t a lot to ask of Nintendo, but I know several families who want their children to be able to enjoy such a fun game fairly but sadly, they cannot. No words can describe how devastated, heartbroken, angry, and upset I am.
