As you probably know from my appearances in numerous documentaries that I will not go out of my way to name, I have been on the hunt for the greatest movie in the universe. It was a humble beginning sitting in my closet at age 9, watching movies on the tv that sat in front of me. Even from that young young age I was obsessed with finding the best movie. But now, as a 38 year old, I can safely say that Pixels (2015) has blown me away in every capacity.
The sheer amount of talent in this monumental movie has knocked my socks off, figuratively and literally. My toes have never been this happy watching a film. And I was nothing but ecstatic seeing that priest turn into a dinosaur and get into all those whacky scenarios. But that's not even the best part. If you would've told me at the ripe age of 13 that in the future I would be watching not the 3rd, or 2nd, or 5th, but the FIRST movie about talking grocery store products throwing food at each other, by golly I wouldn't have believed you. In fact I would quite literally laugh and spit in your face. But here I am, falling in love but a movie about a vampire guy, laughing at my own hubris instead.
Thank you, Planet of the Minions, for giving me a reason to live again.
