I enjoyed reading it in Jr High in the seventies, again in my thirties and now a reread at 66.
Each time I've found a different set of ideas to relate to, a different understanding.
Saddly all those years and the world hasnt changed much. Being on the brink of that fear of war is still everpresent.
.ore than any other novel of this scenario Alas Babylon has the sense of how people might actually be. With such a huge dependance on technology now I think society's ability to cope would be so much the poorer.
How many can do any of those homestead skills and those of us that can will be easily worn out.
Read this book. Find tour place in it and grow beyond that. Thats the message I
