Iravin Nizhal... Advertised as worlds first non linear single shot film.. How is it. First of all it's an 18+ film. Has adult scenes, filthy dialogues. So no kids strictly. As an actor & director R. Parthipan always is a unique person trying and tried to portrait anything of his products in a new way. Some may saybit attention seeking, some may say it as a passion towards art. But some how his involvement in film makins is interesting like his Otha seruppu, housefull,sugamana sumaigal, ivan, kudaikul mazhai.. In this line is his new experimental venture Iravin Nizhal. The main film is just 1.30 mins+ 30 mins of making. The 30 mins of making is very engaging and shows the strugglenof making a single shot take. Sometimes it's the set properties, the actors, the crane, nature some thing or other doesn't work right snd they have to recreate the shot from 1 st min. Humongous work involved for all and tremondous pressure because they are going to do it again and again. Special kudos to art director, lightmen and cameraman for making it to acceptable product. The actors Brigida( pavi teacher fondly), guy who played small time parthiban stand seperately while others don't impress. Surprisingly Pathiban too isn't in the film more. He had other depts also to be taken care. The main hero of the movie is ARR. BGM and 2 songs..Kaayam + paavam seyathiru manamey haunts you.. Once the making part is over u get the interval post which main picture gets screened. How is the picture... Non linear, single shot,.. All ok. But why is the question. What is the need for taking this except experimental method. The story isn't engaging at all. Leave the message part.. What does he try to say. Do no sin..but that's a done and dusted message right. Too much of camera shifts make you feel dizzy. And there is no twists, surprises are interesting scenes at all. Usually parthiban movies have subtle comedy, clever word play.. Even those are missing big time. Scenes appear dry and mostly all night scenes. Why some 18+ scenes without necessity. He could have expressed in his words itself. Why to show them. And .. Leave filthy words... I do agree vetrimaaran films have even more words than these but there it was justified. Here these scenes appear pushed into. Look into you tube.. They r now marketing using these scenes. Hightime parthiban shd come off from his dark nature of films or else he too will end up like dir.bala. People in media will say aha oho to this movie. Because they r in media and they shd portrait this movie higher or else they will be branded as people with less knowledge in art or movie. But for a common man... I didn't get a sense of watching full length feature film. Finally Hats off to his effort for trying out a single shot film.. But screenplay and story doesn't justify them. "Iravin Nizhal... *RRR* When u go to certain director films u expect films based on their template like manirathnam, shankar, vetrimaran, rajamouli etc.. This one is also in same lines. If he can make an fly dance to his tunes , given two larger than life telugu superstars how can he make a subtle film. There he is showing off like a grand Indian wedding with all dishes served. We cannot compare with his other films except the grand treatment because this is in a seperate canvas. And in period films u have to look out of clear facts and details. But this is a fictional story happening in freedom era, so no queries asked. We all love to listen stories from our grand parents or to read from books. We try to visualise them in mind as we progress. Rajamouli is one guy who has listened to lot of stories and wants us to see what he visualised. Making a double hero subject is always a risk where it's difficult to satisfy the fans of two heroes. Here he has balanced it well. ( but fact is Ramcharan has much grandier scenes). Usually in movies the best is atored for the climax to make audience gear up and surprise with a bang. Here in RRR almost we have 5 to 6 climax portion like scenes. If we think wow this scene is amazing, what else can he do, he throws us one more scene in a different treatment. Both heroes entry is terrific. Interval block, pre climax and climax fights r super good. Actually they have choreographed the fights. Both actors gracefully fight. NTR is very calm and emotional while Ramcharan breathes fire. Ajay devgan did well, alia bhat character is weak. Music is one big pillar of the movie. And in Naatu koothu song whole theatre erupts. If u ahve seen the dance steps in song promos it's only tip of iceberg. The whole song is an energy pumping machine. Nice entertainment movie for family. Worth wait.
