The songs were great, except under the sea, was a bit underwhelming. I enjoyed it with friends and thought the added songs by Lin Manuel were a good addition. Ursula stole the show, Melissa McCarthy was excellent. And dominated every scene she was in - Ariel had no chance. The diversity was such a breath of fresh air, and the way the prince could realistically fall for Ariel due to curiousity, zest for adventure and intrigue - are all much more realistic than the original where one really could pinpoint why the prince was so smitten - just her looks + helplessnes alone made Eric seem a bit shallow. But this one adds more depth. Loved "Kiss the Girl" and Daveed Diggs' Sebastian was so hilarious 😂. A new classic for decades to come 🎉✨
