Andy i have just finished reading your book and i was amazed at the similarities between your circumstances and my own. I to am a RBKA and have been for two years now due to an infection in my right foot which would not clear up and resulted in me asking the surgeons to amputate my leg.
I live in Arbroath where you did some of your training and have done since 45 commando moved here in the early 1970s and its fair to say i have had my fair share of scraps with the marines when they came into town on a weekend however I have made a lot of good friends with a few of them.
I too along with my son and grandson are mad Liverpool fans and have made the long trek down to games sometimes on a Thursday for Europa League games then back down on a Sunday for League games and I would not miss them for anything, unbelievable atmosphere.
Your book totally describes all the things that as an amputee we all have to learn to overcome and mostly it shows that we sometimes hold ourselves back due to thinking that we cant do certain things but I firmly believe that unless you try you will never know.
I would totally recommend your book to all amputees as they start out on their journey so thank you for sharing your story with us.
Good Luck in everything that you do.
Regards Artie
