I couldn’t connect AT ALL with “this Marilyn” by De Armas, though her performance is good and she looks really pretty; nevertheless, all I could see is Ana De Armas herself, the very opposite from Adrien Brody, for example. The movie is
“”ok””, as shocking as so many others (…). The “problem” to me (as a cinema-layperson, of course!), is, it does not represent M. Monroe as she really was - yet being a non-biography. Her life and career had true hard times indeed, but she was a brilliant woman, absurdly intelligent and did not victimize herself, nor was that super fragile ‘little girl’ shown in the movie. Average film; a bit strange; beautiful B&W scenes. ZERO connection De Armas/ Norma Jean Baker.
