The Dark Knight, directed by Christopher Nolan is widely regarded as one of the greatest films of all time. Headed by great action sequences edge of your seat thrills and a wonderful performance by Heath Ledger's Joker this movie is one that will never be forgotten Plot Summary: The film the Dark Knight begins as a bunch of henchman rob a bank slowly killing each other one by one until their is only one remaining, he reveals himself as being the Joker Batman, D.A Harvey Dent and Lieutenant Jim Gordan work together to stop organised crime in the city for good. Batman then travels to Hong Kong and arrests Mr Lau a money accountant for the Mob bosses. Lau confesses the mob members names and they are put on trial. Meanwhile the Jokers grand scheme to turn Gotham into a Chaotic, Anarchy society has begun as he starts by attacking the underworld. He steals from them (seen in first scene) kills mob members, builds his army and makes deals with them further weaking them and giving him more power and resources. He then attacks Gotham's heroes. He starts by killing high profile people such as the police commissioner, judge and attempts to kill the mayor and says the killing will only stop if Batman reveals himself in an attempt to mentally break Batman. At a press conference Bruce Wayne is about to reveal himself but Harvey Dent steps in claiming to be the Batman to lure the Joker in. After a high speed chase the Joker is arrested but reveals to Batman that Harvey Dent and Rachel are held hostage but he can only save one. He attempts to save Rachel but the Joker switched their locations around and Rachel blows up while Harvey is saved but half his face burns. The Joker then escapes from prison and burns all the mobs money as he believes they are fake criminals who only care about money, he then takes over the criminal underworld. On national television Coleman Resse is about to reveal Batman's identity but thinking it will foil his plans the Joker threatens to blow up a hospital if Coleman isn't killed. The police franticly evacuate the hospitals and stop Coleman Reese from getting shot by people who have family in the hospitals. The Joker then bombs a hospital and convinces Harvey Dent now the villain two face to go on a murderous rampage killing everyone involved in Rachels death. The Joker then executes his next plan revealing that two evacuation ferries are full of explosives and if the other ferry decides to kill the other then they survive but if they both don't then they both die. The Batman attempts to stop the Joker but its too late as the clock strikes midnight but the Joker is in shock as neither one of the ferries decided to blow up the other one. The Batman then defeats the Joker before confronting two face who has Gordan's son hostage. The Batman manages to kill two face. Gordon and Batman decide to blame Dent's actions on Batman as the city needs Dent as a hero to look up to. The batman then rides of two the night with the police chasing him. Masterpiece
