This movie is a very well acted movie. It’s intriguing and keeps your attention even with it being slow and repetitive (doing the same routine day after day for an extended period of time in the film without any climaxes.) The actors displayed tense emotions, and the little boy had such odd behaviors it made you feel that something huge to explain it all was bound to come up soon and it would be so bizarre that it would blow your mind and finally all make sense. So the suspense building is there just because the plot is just so weird, the whole time you’re thinking it’s only obvious that at some point they have to take the movie down a path that connects the dots and provides understanding. This movie does NOT do that. It’s just weird all the way to the end with absolutely no explanations. It totally makes the movie way more boring because they are literally in a house doing the same things every day, which they have strong reactions to because they are trapped and unable to escape the neighborhood. However at the end of it all you absolutely have to draw your own conclusions and it’s not worth it at all. It’s not a mysterious enough plot, like a mystery or a puzzle that you actually can put clues together and find out something that was implied if you’re some kind of intellectual with deep understanding. No, it’s just a bunch of weird stuff that you may be able to draw your own personal metaphor regarding but it definitely does not come across as a meaning that was intended to be portrayed to the viewer that provided any sort of obvious summary. I think this movie is a waste of time. You’re left disappointed at the end, even though you enjoy it before you realize it’s going to end so badly. It’s just so shocking that it ends so poorly. I would not recommend.
