Sorry but it was thrash. Poor acting, lame/annoying main characters, cheesy American stereotypes, substandard script, overly predictable storyline, and token use of non-white people. Please don’t bother

I’m coming up to half way. It’s interesting but not satisfying. As soon as Octavia starts to go into any depth about her feelings she uses another person’s work (e.g an artist) to describe her mental state. It can be hard to follow and takes us away from her own account of her experience. As it happens so often I am left unfulfilled with the story and not really sure how much I have gained from reading it so far. I hate to say it but also comes across as a bit pretentious.

I’ll give the film credit for being very captivating and well executed, but unfortunately it was incomplete: How on earth did anyone in the first place not look at that young photo of hers and think that child can’t be passed 3 yrs old? What happened to her after her stint in the forest? Further, more details of the court case were needed to get a clearer understanding of what actually took place to land Jane Daniel in such a mess… and finally, why on earth are people so gullible??!! Come on, how can she constantly be walking east towards Germany while simultaneously hanging out with a wolf pack? Sorry but I was not duped by the ridiculousness of her tale.

This film is intensely sad as it powerfully & dramatically captures the plagues of our society including loneliness, emotional repression, lack of social support, escapism, addiction and existing without true purpose. The synchronicity of each of the characters downfall and the rawness of their pain was portrayed magnificently. This is a unique and bold film.
