Stunning, yet controversial. Forbes article by Liz Allen makes damning accusations but does not substantiate them. She claims that although the film says that almost 50% of ocean waste is fishing gear, it’s 10%—but no citation or substantiation. We to look at the more critically and from a balanced perspective. The Forbes article did not provide that balance, and the author is guilty of the sensationalism of which she accuses the film. One important omission in the film is that many in developing nations could not survive without eating fish. The issues presented in the film need to be thoroughly investigated, discussed, and addressed. Everyone concerned about our planet should see the film and discuss it with many.

Everyone should see. We know about the pollution and the need to reduce our use and get rid of the waste. But most don’t know the root causes and how to address them. Or why the big companies invested in “fossil fuels” see plastic as their future, as we use petroleum less for fuel. Scary how they are planning to build huge plants to take gas from fracking and make plastics. We must have regulations! NOW!
