This is the first time I've ever wanted to do a review. I was really looking forward to Mr. Mayor. The actors are great and do their roles well, but whoever is writing this or forcing changes in the scripts are really killing the potential that this show has. It makes me feel like my old, right-wing, cartoonist, uncle is telling me a story about these overly pc people. NBC had a winning formula with Parks And Recreation. That show made their characters realistic yet zany, while forcing them into crazy nonsensical antics. In its first episode it treated a serious issue in a nonsensical fashion, which was also a slap in the face. It feels like the show didn't know how to make any of their characters likeable. If you want a show to run for 5 or more seasons, maybe don't frame the characters I should be liking in such bad backgrounds. The mayor, his daughter, and the deputy mayor were all made seriously unlikable. Also a lot of jokes fell flat. Was expecting better from Tina Fey, she's done such great work.
