Soooooo…….I always say leave well enough alone. I’ve never been a fan of remakes. I went because I knew I would at least enjoy the music and the choreography…..which I did for the most part. But my problem is that this movie is so imbedded in my head from the time I was a little girl that any bit of difference didn’t sit well with me. Also, many of the songs were out of sequence which drove me crazy. The gym scene was great and probably my favorite. The musical number COOL was butchered as far as I’m concerned and that’s usually another one of my favorite scenes. And AMERICA….which was such a strong number fell flat IMO. Too much going on to really enjoy it. But that being said, those who may not be as familiar with the original movie may not be as critical as me. A lot of people leaving the theater thought it was great. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I give it 3 stars at best and that’s being generous and only because I love the music.
