A good introduction of Data to Object formation or as some may say, 3D deposition. It covers most processes for material transfer to create three-dimensional masses. It was the first of it's kind when published in 2002 when only a few people were catching on to idea of producing structures from computer data. I am surprised to see cold-spray deposition listed here as I read this book in 2022. I am reviewing it for direct to metal printing ideas that others have overlooked. The last time it shows being taken from the library was 2004. This proves to me the information in the book will reap me big benefits. I find it cute that Sanders Prototype, Inc and 3D Systems, Inc are referenced in footnotes for commercially available solid free-from-fabrication systems employing inkjet methods when both companies licensed these ideas from a patent idea from an individual in 1988 or sooner.
It is time to tell the history of 3D inkjet printing. Is anyone interested? James K McMahon, has a inkjet printer collection and has worked in the key firms to live the story.
