This is a gosh awful mess of a movie and Agatha Christie must be spinning in her grave. The film gives none of the grandeur of Egypt or the Nile. It was as if it was filmed on some back lot. The characters were certainly not as I remembered from the book or the other films I have seen. One character and her secretary are now lesbian lovers and Salome is a bluesy night club singer. Just plain weird! A lot of the movie is a mishmash of bad dialogue and talking endlessly in dark rooms. I knew something was really weird when the movie started with Poirot on the battlefield as a young man. The scene made no sense and has no credence in the canon of the great detective . Kenneth Branagh, I plead with you not to make another Agatha Christie movie!! Give me David Suchet as the great detective any day because that rendition does great respect to Agatha Christie and her brilliant writing. This movie trashes her amazing story! It’s almost sinful.
