Love, as a feeling, has way too many nuances to be rushing through it. So, if you are someone in a hurry, perhaps, love isn’t for you. Neither is this movie, since it moves at its own pace touching all such moods and emotions relatable to falling in love. This love it portrays, is by no way pretentious. It has got enough spontanity and imperfections to be real and human. The movie breaks the usual stereotype about the way the protagonist is supposed to be looking like, which, in this case is a “Fat hairy mallu guy”.
Anoop, as expected, has played Sanjay Paul brilliantly with an air of nonchalance, quirkiness and grace. Miya impresses as Anjali with every second of her screen time. All the other actors have done a fantastic job with their characters. Frankly, never knew the actor Baiju could pull off such a character with ease all these years.
The storyline felt quite organic with zero added ingredients to add to its ‘commercial’ appeal, especially with the humour part. All the humour played out real well. It was relevant, situational, well balanced and certainly expect nothing slap stick.
Well, the downside? I felt the art direction felt a tad bit dated and overdone for my taste, but by no way a deal breaker. In fact, there are friends of mine who found it awesome and thought this story demanded it. The cinematographer has done a good job with the framing. The locations chosen for the movie are simply breathtaking.
In all, a brilliantly written movie by Anoop Menon. Great team effort by the entire team for coming out with a great entertainer.
In short, a movie as heartwarming as the love it portrays.
