I disliked this movie in almost every scene. the directors focus on smoking , smoking , smoking, smoking, smoking, smoking, smoking.....smoking,
was abominable. there was little to no background of her relocation to Israel from Ukraine. no presentation of her political rise, no presentation of her family. A better film to understand the War is "The Angel" which more fully presents the Yom Kippur war and the character sparingly discussed in Golds. His name was Marwan.
While films have been made of Churchill and Roosevelt. None have the theme of smoking, smoking ,smoking.
The filming made this historical woman almost repulsive with her habit.
Perhaps that was this directors goal. Having been in Synagogue when the news broke, i experienced first hand my Brooklyn neighbors reaction to the war. Many smoked.
But that was not what my memory of this period was until now.
Your better off reading a book about Golda!
