I’m called to write romance novels & screenplays. I support Christian movies in the theaters. I brought my two best Christian guy friends to this one. (Bad Idea!) I bought & read this book in the past 2 days & we saw the movie this morning. What a disappointment! I assumed since the book author wrote the screenplay she would have control & not allow Hollywood or whoever to water down the Christian message or display too graphic scenes with this very sexual & violent content. I was wrong! My one guy friend sat in the lobby for most of the movie, because he felt like he was being subjected to soft porn. Bumping, grinding, & moaning with clothes on is too graphic & totally unnecessary! We shouldn’t ignore sex because it’s unrealistic, but you can do things tastefully & leave things to the imagination like they did in old Hollywood movies! (I was shocked to see David AR White & Roma Downy as producers. I pray they don’t put it on Pureflix!) A mini series would have been better because of time constraints. However, I believe this could have been presented much better & clearer than it was in movie form. Her journey to God & the people He used to influence her & change her stony heart into flesh wasn’t clear in the movie at all. At the end, she was so redeemed God could use her to be a redeemer for others who had walked down that same road. What God taught her through all these relationships, (not just Michael), enabled her to have what she needed to finally get free from that life & create a new one. I wouldn’t recommend it! This movie was too sexually graphic, the Christian message was very watered down & not clear like the book!
