My daughter and I played it all the way through with no hints. It it one of the tightest adventure games with regard to puzzles - by this I mean that the creators have staged the game such that the amount of inventory objects, and scene hot spots is quite low - so if all else fails you can always brute force using A with B. The many characters in the game also give hints. There isn't an over amount of dialog to churn through. The only complaint would be that they try to make funny answers for everything, and it comes across as as trying too hard. It comes across as forces humour. My advice to the creators would be that during play testing - keep lines that get audible laughs, and change the other lines so that don't dig so much.
