“Spare” is full of boring, long details that do not give any substance to the story. It has many very long sentences that need to be shortened or eliminated if they don’t enhance the theme of the book. I did not like the extremely detailed descriptions of the grounds, the rooms, etc. The book is too wordy and has little substance.
