Star Trek, for the last nearly 15 years, has had flash and production values. Good cast and increased diversity. But, the tone has been off. The spirit more guarded, and the adventure less uniquely, Star Trek.
Picard, seasons one and two, avoided its TNG (The Next Generation) roots, while not sticking the landing on well trodded plots.
Season three, is a return to form. Honoring the story of the TNG cast that backed Picard, while showing growth and change. Such a love letter to Star Trek, I can’t recommend the season enough.
